Dr.Subashree Narayanan

Guru Smt. Dr.Subashree Narayanan is a ‘Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition’ & mother of two. Dr. Narayanan has won many Laurels and Accolades in Nritta and Abhinaya. Seeing her potential in Abhinayam, her Dance Gurus Shri. GV Ramani & Smt. Ranganayaki Ramani referred her to Padmabhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan (Virtuoso of Abhinayam) to study the art form further. Dr. Narayanan has given several performances both in India & US. She has also conducted her numerous Arangetrams, in India, and in the US. Until recently, She had been enhancing her domain in Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Guru. B. Bhanumati and Smt Sheela Chandrashekar, Guru Bhanumathi Nrityakalamandiram, Bengaluru. She had recently participated in Dance Workshops like “Sringara” to hone her Abhinayam skills, especially taking on the new nuances of BharataNrittam and Abhinayam.

In conjunction with her dance career, Dr. Narayanan’s parents enrolled her in Classical Carnatic music under Sangeetha Vidhwan Shri. A.S. Panchapakesha Iyer (Author of Gaanaamrutha Bodhini – Foundation book of Present Day Carnatic Music). She went on to complete her Diploma in Carnatic music at the young age of 14. She went on for advanced Vocal Training under the guidance of Guru Smt. T.R. Balamani.

Presently Dr. Narayanan is a core member of ‘Rasajhari’, which has conducted a variety of dance recitals over the years and continues to promote the artforms. Now after a hard and long journey from being a student to a teacher today, Subashree has successfully opened a school under the name “KalAradhana – School of Arts”, where she shares her experience with children and adults alike. She also enjoys imparting her knowledge to students under the spectrum in dance and music, using various therapy methods. She has now conducted many workshops under the KalAradhana banner and has an active performing group of her senior students, and other like- minded Bharatnatyam dance teachers of Jacksonville, FL called “NatyaBhanuJax”. She has also initiated “Nrityamela” in Jax being inclusive of all dance schools.
